I just bought my first house, and what I was convinced would be a snarl of setbacks and disappointments was smooth sailing with Mitch at Guaranteed Rate. I walked into it not knowing much but a little skeptical (not knowing much always makes me wary of people taking advantage) -- and he answered all my questions with no strings attached, in a way that valued my concerns, never patronizing even the smallest, most basic inquiries.
The market has been insane and I've heard so many horror stories; I was expecting more of the same. Instead, I got pre-approved, offered, and closed on a house all on the first deadlines, just in time for the new year. Mitch and his team communicated on the phone, over text and via email in a way that kept me up to date the whole time without feeling overwhelmed. I cannot recommend them enough!
