Hi, Ridge Behavioral Health System (Owner) Thank you for the opportunity to feel worse when leaving your facility, than when I arrived. I would like to take the opportunity to address MY concerns with you directly. Upon leaving, I was given a completely new diagnosis, which I discovered when signing my release forms. When I asked to speak with my Dr. to get a better understanding of his decision, and a possible treatment plan, I was told "he is with clients." When I asked why he made such a decision and did not discuss it or treatment options with me, I was met with, "idk, I was not there, therefore I am not speaking about it." I was then told if I stayed a few more days, that I could possibly be able to talk with him. When I asked, "where do I go from here?" The Dr coldly stated, "therapy," which I do already. Even though he had given me a completely different diagnosis than I had upon entering the facility, he didn't tell or offer to discuss it with me. Better yet, even discuss a treatment plan. He prescribed fish oil, Vitamin D and a Probiotic, with no further assistance other than to go to therapy. I was held against my will, even though I did not have a 72 hour hold and I signed myself in. I was denied BASIC hygiene at one point because I "missed the hygiene window," even though there was still 20 minutes left of leisure time. I wasn't allowed to shower, brush my teeth or use my deodorant. My room was cleared of all of my belongings at least two hours before I left. No sooner than 30 minutes after learning that I could finally leave, to my surprise, my room was cleared of all of my personal belongings and clothing. Including sheets, blankets and pillows. Not to mention, they couldn't find half of my things once I was allowed to leave. My therapist did make sure I got my deodorant, but it was at least an hour after I had already asked multiple staff members at the desk and was denied. Their idea of group therapy is laughable. I can print off self help pages from the Internet myself. However, our peer support group leader was wonderful, and made the best of the situation he was given. He made a way to connect with each of us and let us know we were heard. Thank you Sean. I was in excruciating pain from a previous physical and dental experience, and was told from my therapist that my mental health could not be addressed properly until my physical health was under control. Yet I was still denied transportation to the ER from the desk staff. I was met with, "what are they going to do at the ER that we can't do here?" Oh, I don't know, actually treat my symptoms properly and with something more potent that a Tylenol? (Even though I had brought my own prescription for dental pain, it was also denied.) Yes, the food is okay, and most of the staff are wonderful. But their "treatment plan," is a joke. The storm had knocked out the power, so we couldn't take showers. When I asked to use the shower, I was told "no one wants to take a cold shower" and had to ask another nurse for my hygiene box. The power outage was the least of my worries during my stay. Their excuse to my poor experience was all blamed on their lack of electricity. Electricity has nothing to do with therapy or the ability to adequately teach coping mechanisms. This facility really needs to learn how to deal with individuals in crisis and the proper way to communicate with their clients. The website is misleading and there are not therapists there 24/7. I begged last night for someone to talk to and was told that the on call therapist was notified, but not responding. I was later told that the on call therapist was mainly for children clients who arrived later in the evening. I spoke with a patient advocate, who was very apologetic and willing to help me find help outside of The Ridge. I honestly don't trust anyone in that facility with anything concerning my mental health. I reluctantly went to this location for help, and left completely jaded. I truly hope no one else has to suffer through an experience like this.

It was an okay place i would say.. yes once you get there it is a struggle especially for being a teenager, it will get cold at night so if they will let you ask for two blankets and the food there is pretty much like regular hospital food but its not bad just make sure your careful with others around you especially if you have a roommate. Some of the staff there are mean and some are nice. The teacher there is amazing i forgot her name but she is really kind and will make sure you get a education there so when you go back to your regular school you will have your grades up. Overall its an okay place. Im still mad that the fact they wouldnt let me take the crocs home that my friend gave me when they left.

Horrible, as much as the ridge has saved my life theres was horrifyingly major problems, the staff does close to nothing to prevent harassment and racism as the kids had made me draw myself A GREEN CARD,and only 3 staff members tried to do something,Adam and the other twos names i cannot remember.i was not able to have water often so i started to turn YELLOW, the staff was starting to get so bad one kid tackled a staff member and had to separate the entire unit making unit 6 available after so long,i can see why theres such a sad rating as it deserves it,train your staff better.
