Tru by Hilton Lexington Hamburg

I really want to give it 3 stars but I'm giving it four because I know what I'm getting into with the "Tru" brand. Tru rooms are usually pretty basic, spartan, built with long term investment in mind, cheapest quality they can get away with while still being durable enough to present a clean room to the guest every time. They attempt to make up for the lack of amenities in room with a very nice comfort area. That's Tru and I knew that going in, so I gave it back a star. Rooms were very clean. Staff was AWESOME. I cannot overstate how good the staff was for my stay. The reason I give this 4 stars (and wanted to do 3) is because this is one of the noisiest hotels I've ever been. It's not the guests fault, just this hotel was built seemingly without any thought to acoustic isolation or noise mitigation. Compounded with the fact, that as I travel with a dog, all the dogs were put in the same area on the second floor, which I get, I travel a LOT with a dog and a lot of hotels try to group them for ease of cleaning (some like putting on 2nd floor because some dogs hate elevators, even though my boy lives in a building with elevator so no issue) Anyway having all the dogs together with no real sound deadening to speak of meant every little noise would start one dog barking, then the other dogs would start chiming in, as dogs do. We kept our dog quiet but as he's still young and in training for reactivity, it was an active process which meant we had to use treats and engagement which meant while dogs are barking, we cannot possibly sleep through it. All in all, I had a terrible night's sleep because this hotel is so noisy. There's nothing the staff could have done except maybe space the dogs out a bit. Its just "Tru" by hilton, you're gonna get a cheaply built sparse hotel. So I gave it 4 stars because I knew that, but no way can I give it 5 stars.

Hotel is only 1 week old, but the person that checked us in was helpful and with minor exceptions things were in order. The room was very small which may be standard for the chain but for what we paid for the night we expected a better room. The TV was really large, which was great for watching the game. There was no comfortable sitting area in the room besides a desk chair, no closet so hangars are above a small table, no microwave or coffee station. There is a narrow padded bench but it's under a tv setup that would be sharp so you can't sit there. Breakfast had good oatmeal and fairly standard fare. Coffee station is 24/7 in the lobby. Gmaps thinks you get there through a complex that does not go through but will learn. It was clean and safe and had some design elements, but the room layout just was not practical for how we use a hotel room.

Fantastic brand-new (open less than a week at the time of our stay) hotel. Friendly staff, decent breakfast, handy location, spotless. I was a little leery of staying here because of how few reviews are up, but that was just because its so new; hopefully this helps!

This hotel is gorgeous, and the staff was so helpful. An absolute must if coming into the area.
