We spent 4 nights and 3 days at Fairyhouse Hall September 2021. We are 2 acquainted couples who met there to tour the bourbon trail and stallion farms. Since we expected to be touring during the days we opted for chef prepared dinners and we left the menu up to the chef/owner. Chef Shanes meals were all 4 or 5 star as rated from our group who have eaten at fine restaurants throughout the world. Each meal was 4 courses and the soups were prepared from homemade stocks. Deserts were from scratch. Local meat and veggies were mostly used. Breakfast was included in our option and these were fully cooked from scratch as well. One was a full English/Irish breakfast, another was beautiful eggs benedict, and another was the best French toast my wife has ever had. Kudos to Shane. BTW alcohol and snacks are BYOB period. Accommodations were not as impressive. While the beds were very comfortable the manor is in need of repairs. The front balcony was rotting down and was a sad sight as we drove up. The weeping willow over the driveway drug on car roofs. Outdoor furniture was plentiful but in need of pressure washing and painting of rusted tables and chairs. Removable cushions had mold on them as did our shower floor. However the country side setting cant be beaten. Hospitality was almost non-existent. We were met at the front door by a lady who showed us to the back interior steps and said the bedrooms were up there. Our friends were met by Shane whose opening remark was dont put the luggage on the beds. We had to ask for the locked thermostat for the bedrooms to be adjusted downward which was done remotely. Aside from the lady who opened the door Shane was the only person we saw during our visit and he is not much for words. However he did warm up a bit after a day or so.
