I usually avoid dignifying this sort of slanderous nonsense with any oxygen, Ian Spurgeon has a lot of nerve to call someone a "con artist" when he played a deliberate and significant role in nothing else but destroying every aspect of our lives as well as literally everyone around him, so I feel it is important for the public to have some context, In short, Ian Spurgeon is a prime example of what happens when you go the extra distance to help young adults like him find a nice home that they can actually afford within walking distance of his job. Ian is a good example that no good deed ever goes unpunished. His statements are horrifically inaccurate. to start, he responded to one of our beautiful listings, came to look at our wonderful apartment and all but begged us to lease him the home, which we did so at an excellent rate of $600 per month with all utilities included, an excellent deal in an ultra secured structure that has never had a fire in it. Contrary to his claim, it has two entrances, including a fully upgraded commercial use steel staircase, which he is now calling a “mere fire escape”, an interior staircase throughout all 5 floors of the structure for additional egress, and egress through the restaurant lobby area which he was always welcome to use whenever he liked for access, not once did he ever complain to us about a maintenance issue, never a complaint about his fridge, nor was his building ever "condemned." Ian worked as a manager at McDonald's for his meals would brag "for free" so he rarely ever bought any groceries at all for his fridge in fact he'd bring us food from his restaurant and would say "don't worry about it" – So he was effectively stealing from his employer without shame. He also brought in a dog which he knew his lease explicitly forbid and yet despite his later alleged claim that “didn’t feel safe there” he still felt comfortable enough with the home to willfully move both his girlfriend and daughter in there without ever a single complaint about anything. His walk-through inspection sheet that him and his girlfriend both signed confirms that he had no such complaints when he moved in nor did he show any such “dire concern about his safety”, if he had done so, we wouldn’t have leased him the home to start with. This was a pity pitch to play the victim role so he could gain financial benefits for himself at the expense of everyone else. Specifically, when an adjacent apartment building caught fire in June 2023, (which we suspect was due to arson) he decided to take advantage of that situation by crying to red cross and "the city" about “leaving them with nothing but the clothes on his back” so he could get free paid priority housing and $1,000 dollars in sympathy donations on a GoFundMe fundraiser for a home and possessions he never actually lost. This is disgusting and shamefully manipulative behavior on the part of Ian and his girlfriend Allie as they were rewarded for their dishonesty by our government in terms of getting paid priority housing over those that actually did lose their homes. Many of them received no assistance at all mainly because they would not agree to willfully slander and defame us the same way Ian and Allie did. Ian is angry with us because we rightfully defended ourselves on social media against his slanderous and damaging rhetoric for his own selfish personal gain and at the expense of real victims from the other building that really did lose everything.Personally, I am quite finished with being senselessly vilified and demonized by these sleazy backstabbing people like Ian Spurgeon. He does not tell the truth or the full story. Ian said, “worst real estate agent he’s ever dealt with” he clearly isn’t even old enough to have dealt with many, he’s barely even an adult. I advise that you do not give people like Ian a second of your time or attention, he’s just not worth it.
