Working with Blue Hen Chefs was fantastic! They were able to cater my event on short notice, and they made the process very easy. Chefs Jeff and Gail were very responsive to my questions and concerns, and they planned the perfect menu for my event. The server, Maureen, was so kind and professional throughout the event, and she worked efficiently during the set-up and clean-up stages. I found the pricing more affordable than most of the other caterers I spoke with, and the online invoice made payment quite convenient. And, most importantly, the food was wonderful! Everything was delicious and fresh, and our guests enjoyed it.

My company had a dinner party for 12 planned at an Air B&B in Frankfort, Kentucky where we were flying in a good customer and chef to prepare the dinner for us. However, he had to cancel a week before the event, leaving us without a chef! Some Google searching brought me to BlueHen Chefs, and Jeff and Gail flew into action! They prepared an amazing four course menu for us, which included the best Beef Tenderloin I have ever tasted! All four courses were amazing, and all of our guests raved about the meal. I cannot wait to have BlueHen Chefs cook for us again the next time we are in Frankfort!

Jeff & Gail provided the most amazing experience for my family! They made the most delicious pasta I've ever had, even with my dietary restrictions. I can't eat dairy and my entire meal was specially made for me. It was absolutely fabulous and I ate every bite! My daughter was blown away by her vegetarian meal and special Tiramisu dessert as well. I love that they will cater to any dietary needs. Jeff and Gail are incredibly thoughtful, kind people that make the best food imaginable.

Short review- one of the most amazing meals I've ever had. If you are thinking of hiring Chef Gail and Chef Jeff, book them now!
Long review- I wanted to do something special for my mother. She loves watching cooking shows, but has trouble walking and isn't the most adventurous eater. We've been to all the nice restaurants in Lexington that aren't too "weird". During my search for someplace new, I stubbled on the BlueHen Chefs' webpage. I was a little hesitant to talk to them, but scheduled a call anyway. They are fantastic! Soooo, easy to talk to and they LISTENED to what I wanted. The whole list of what my mom doesn't like, lol, and the bucket list dishes she wanted to try. They sent me a sample menu that looked good and I tweaked it a bit and added more courses. The result was a once in a lifetime meal for Mother's Day. Every dish was better than the one before it! I travel a lot and have tried many, many different things. I was blown away by how good everything was. We had a very eclectic menu that I thought would be challenging, but they had no problem. I can say that their crab cakes are better than I've had in Baltimore, their lobster risotto is better than Gordon Ramsey Steak, and their key lime pie is better than in the Florida Keys! The portion sizes were just right, too.
Overall, I couldn't be any happier that I took the first step and talked to them. I can't express enough how good the food was and how comfortable they are to have in your home. They made my mother feel like a queen for a day.
P.S. They bring a TON of things with them, all very organized. It's impressive. After the meal they clean up and leave your kitchen spotless. You also get all the leftovers and remaining ingredients. Have containers ready.
