These guys are crooks. Bought a unit from them them the switch me to a different unit than what they said they were selling me. The installer they send had never installed a Mr. Cool heat pump before. I have had constant problems for over a year and a half. Havent had heat for 4 weeks. STAY AWAY!!! Im probably going to rip out the system and have a new system installed from someone else and sue them. One star is way too high of a review. What a nightmare to deal with these guys!!! To reply to the companies reply to me: The contractor was recommended to me by the HVAC Outlet. He shows up and had never installed a Mr. Cool before. This unit is different from a regular heat pump as I have had 4 different companies out here to look at it and they don't understand the technology and walk away with the unit not working. The contractor quit answering my calls after the second call back and said he had done all he knew to do. Finally Mr. Cool send me a new unit but I had to pay $250.00 shipping and $300.00 to have it installed. Not exactly standing behind your product. If you have a unit for less than three months with issues, you should not have to pay for shipping and for additional installation fees. I had a Ecobee Programable Thermostat and the original contractore the HVAC outlet recommended or the contractor that installed the second unit knew anything about Ecobee. The second contractor said to get a Honeywell so I spent another $190.00 on a Honeywell and the unit still wasn't working properly. I will say the technical guy at Mr. Cool's home office did finally walk me through how the Honeywell Thermostat should be hooked up and it started working properly. I hooked it up with the help of Honeywell and it didn't work right but they admitted, they were no familiar with Mr. Cool products. Even the second contractor, who was also recommended to me from the HVAC Outlet, said he had no training on the Mr. Cool and was on the line with Mr. Cool on how to install the unit. My advice is to either have someone who has been trained on Mr. Cool to install the heat pump or spend a little more and go with a different unit. I went almost 2 months without heat because no one would either show up or they had no idea how to work on the unit. Thank goodness I had a wood burning stove and I went out and bought a space heater for every bedroom.
