Holiday Inn University Plaza-Bowling Green, an IHG Hotel

I must say I like this hotel. This is bit expensive but the hotel is very clean, the service & staff is good. It has a very big seating area in the middle of the building, and inner-building is beautiful compared to outside. The staff was almost patient and helpful. The rooms did not have mini-fridge and microwave which was bit disappointing. But their breakfast buffet is really really good. They have hot breakfast with chef cooking waffles/choice of omelette or egg which was really nice. They also have other bread options. This breakfast buffet is available for $10 while making the reservation. Rooms: Clean and nice. Food & drinks: Awesome breakfast with a bar.

This Holiday Inn was a great deal on a third party app. I paid 105 a night + 5 dollar parking for a standard room and it was a very large king room on top floor. The building is somewhat dated, the bed hurt my back pretty bad, and there was some soap scum in the shower. The sink also was clogged. Also, no microwaves in rooms, but there is one near the ice machine. But.... The service was excellent and the issues were my fault for not bringing up. They texted me an hour after I was in the room and in the morning asking how I was doing. I'm just not a complainer. The hotel was 7 floors and reaembles the inside of a Embassy Suites in a way with a large interior of the hotel (see my images). Excellent location to tons of restaurants and shopping, all within a 5 minutes drive. The hotel is connected to the convention center and has a couple restaurants, a bar, a pool, and many other features. Overall, I had a nice stay.

We booked this hotel visit based off of previous positive experiences at Holiday Inns. This location was lacking in room amenities. Our air conditioner wasnt working properly, the bathtub was rusting around the seams and was not draining properly. My husband mentioned this to the front desk and they did send someone promptly to evaluate the complaint. The man that came to repair the issue was kind and he changed the filter in the room. That seemed to help a little. Also, we were disappointed that there was no heat in the pool and there was not a hot tub. (Its April and still a little chilly.) One of the other guests almost slipped when getting in the pool by the steps. She was elderly and there doesnt appear to be any kind of slip resistant material on the steps. Positives of the hotel include: nice view from the 6th floor of the city, pretty glass elevators to go from the lobby to the room, large waiting lobby, convenient parking (nightly charge for security,) and a convenient overall location. Safety: Nightly parking fee for security
