My table saw broke at the job site. I called this store because it was close. Asked them if they had tablesaws and what brands they carried. They said they mostly carried dewalt, which I was looking for. I asked about a certain one and tool rep said he wasn't sure because they had so many. I got there they had one off brand not even portable table saw. One in the whole store.

I needed a new storm door for an area where we keep pets, and I knew that they sold Larson. Theyre also the closest place to my house. I called to check stock and to ask a couple of questions, but as soon as I asked if the door was in stock, the kid put me on hold so fast that I couldnt ask him the other main question I had, so when he got back on the phone, (clearly upset that Id had him check stock) I asked him if the screens were aluminum or nylon. Apparently that was a bridge too far for him, because he rudely informed me that he wasnt a plumber or an electrician so Id need to come and check for myself. REALLY? That ones just funny because of the abject stupidity of his response. Another time, I came in looking for a specific hardware item. I cant remember exactly what it was but it wasnt an exotic item and should be standard fare for a hardware store. The counter employee assured me (after I asked him if he was sure) that they didnt cary the item, but out of a combination of curiosity and disbelief, I searched for it anyway and found one. The employees there dont even pretend to care about what you want or why you want it. Its a convenient place to go if you know what you want and where it is in the store though. I really believe that his store could capitalize on its location and become something great. I worked in the lumber business as a younger person and I lament the demise of the traditional lumber yard. This store has a perfect opportunity to be that for this area because were so far from the Lowes or Home Depot stores. Wouldnt it be nice if they aspired to the kind of service and knowledgeability that real lumber yards used to have? In my opinion, this store is only in business because of their location. NOT because people love the service and appreciate the help.
