Kent county jail out sources the care of inmates to Vitalcore. My inmate is being told they do not treat ANY pain while lodged at kent county jail. So if you have Fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease, carpal tunnel, or any type of chronic pain illness. Your told by the vitalcore staff to just deal with it! This is a sad excuse of a medical company. I understand they are inmates, but they are HUMAN BEINGS!! VERY VERY BAD CONPANY DO NOT HIRE FOR ANY REASON.

On 2/19-24 I was sound asleep when my phone ringing woke me up. It was 'Jean' from Ingham County Jail. She hired me over the phone. Next a. m. awakened again, with Jean telling me it was a per diem hire and it was every wednesday night??!! I still took the position hoping there would be days to pick up.. Went up on friday for fingerprinting and a photo for my badge. I received a not so nice text telling me I had arrived late, appt 14:00, arrived @ 13:30. One of the girls pointed Jean out for me. I saw her 3 more times as she did not even acknowledge my presence. I left. Then 5 days later I received a text telling me she /VitalCore was withdrawing their offer. That was my first time hearing VC. Not a nice woman. Makes me wonder how she can be /show any compassion for an Ill inmate. In text from Jean, telling me how I was late. This woman did not even look my way or acknowledge me. I was there 2.5 hrs to be printed & pic.

I was employed with Vital Core as the Health Services Administrator at Galveston County Jail. I have a great deal of experience working at Jails and Prison in my past employment history. This experience was the worst. Extremely poor upper management, inadequate and ill trained staff. Employees have a do not care attitude, which results in poor patient care. BTW Multiple employees call in on a regular basis causing great staffing shortages. New employees are not retained because of failed leadership, poor new employee orientation and constant bullying from senior staff. The medical director is too old and does just what is needed to get by. The CEO and clinical operations CEO feel the answer to everything is to terminate employees. The CEO and Clinical Operations CEO speak to employees in a rude and condescending manner. I personally have felt verbally harassed by the CEO. Galveston is Vital Core's only Texas facility and it is in real trouble. One last mention: I was taken off work by my Mental Health Provider after the passing of my mother. Vital Core CEO and Clinical Operations CEO, consulted Human Resources and their legal department together they DENIED my leave and demanded I return to work(after 2 days off). (I could go on and talk about how a Caucasian co worker experienced the same type of situation requiring a leave of absence. She was granted her LOA. No questions asked also during a challenging time at the facility if not more challenging.) My mental health was of no importance to this company. I was the Health Administrator of the entire medical department. There was no way I could in good faith perform my required job duties. I felt harassed into rendering my immediate resignation. If not, I would be terminated. Do not consider employment with Vital Core. As a licensed professional I felt threatened walking through those doors on a daily basis.

I interviewed at a correctional facility in Ogden UT. Everything went well and I was given the job. At the last minute I received a call from Margie, telling me the onboarding procedure was a challenge for me which it was not. I got fired before even starting the job. Avoid this company called Vitalcore. They have a horrible reputation
