Anthony is a true professional when it comes to radon solutions. He installed my unit which had to be customized due to the difficult floor plan of the house. My radon levels are stable in the safe zone now. I am very glad I contacted Heartland Radon Solutions.

Installation is nearing two years ago. Installer was friendly. A week or so later the owner came by to inspect the installation and see test results, he confirmed radon levels had been reduced to an acceptable level. Since then: 1) A few weeks later I noticed the vapor barrier in crawl space had detached from the walls, I called the installer directly since I still had his number, he taped back up and was apologetic. 2) When colder temperatures arrived, vent stack cover was creating condensation, causing ice to build up on/under shingles, and water to run down inside the pipe, causing a gurgling that could be heard in the house. No longer had installer's direct number, called business number, someone took a message and promised a call back, didn't happen. I called again, was again promised return phone call to schedule something, didn't happen. Third time I left a new message saying if I didn't hear back I would go on the icy roof and cut off the cap myself to prevent roof damage and send Heartland a bill, someone called back right away to schedule. Installer was apologetic and friendly. Original stack cover was removed, was told a different cover needed to be ordered and installed on a different day to fix the problem, I said he could come by any time and do it. Evidently a cover wasn't necessary because it was never installed. 3) Months later I replaced a porcelain light fixture in the attic because the pull chain stopped working. This was the same electrical box that new wiring for the radon fan was ran from. When I removed the screws from the light fixture the wire nut from the hot wires fell out of the box, leaving the hot wires exposed. I fixed with a new, correctly sized wire nut and electrical tape. 4) Just lately while in the attic to install a ceiling fan brace I noticed the outlet box Heartland installed for the radon fan doesn't have a cover on it and the outlet itself wasn't screwed tight/flush to the face of the box, the bunched up wires behind it were preventing that. Also, there appears to be no wire clamp on the cable where entering the electrical box. This seems like a code violation, would have hoped the business owner would have double-checked this. When I have time on a cool morning I'll fix myself. 5) During this wet Spring I checked to make sure our crawl space was dry. Again the tape holding the vapor barrier had come loose. I looked under the vinyl barrier and found one empty tube of caulking left by the installer. There are randomly spaced lines of caulk on the foundation walls, not sure if that was used just to temporarily tack the vinyl in place while taping or if it's supposed to be a sealant, but it was a far cry from a constant bead. I think I have this corrected and hope that radon levels are where they were upon initial installation of the system. Company may have come out to fix all of the issues I did not report to them, but I lost confidence and simply got to a point where I wanted to know how things were being done.

Anthony was great, always on time, and very professional. He installed a radon mitigation system in our basement after testing indicated our levels sat around 10 pCi/l. After installing our system, he reran the radon test for 5 days to make sure it worked before accepting payment. Our new radon level is now .70 pCi/l, well below the recommended 4.0 pCi/l. The system looks great and is very quiet. We are very happy with his work and professionalism! Thanks again, Anthony!
