A very handy stop that we use often. Always clean, includes handicapped parking and handicapped stalls, a neat room with dioramas and historical photographs & information about the area, a pop machine, and water fountains. Also has two small walking trails, one with other historical information about the area, too, and two gazebos for picnics, one on either side of the building. And if you play Pokmon Go, it has 2 gyms and 3 Pokstops - very handy for rural players like us that need a closer place for Community Day. It's the closest place for us that has that many stops & gyms in a close area... the next closest would be 30-ish miles south, at the Fort Scott historical fort. I think it has items for the other out-and-about games, too, like Ingress and the Harry Potter game. It was built only a few years ago, as new highway work was being done through there. It has a little lake which nearly always has wildlife of some kind visible, and one of the trails ends at one edge of the lake. It has some lovely artwork, including a horse and rider statue out at the edge of 52 Highway (that crosses and merges with the other highway). I would have given it 5 stars if it had been solar powered, which it decidedly could have been. I was greatly disappointed that it wasn't.
