Do NOT get a mortgage with VU. They'll take all your money with "fees", and then sell your mortgage to a different lender days after closing. Companies that prey on veterans should not be able to use the word "veterans" in their name.

My loan officer was Shawn Stewart. Mr. Stewart was extremely helpful in educating me on which type of loan that was tailor made to fit my needs. He went above expectations to accommodate me!! He even referred me to some nice restaurants to visit when I arrive in the Kansas City area. Mr. Stewart I want to congratulate you on a Job well done, no one can compare

Was excited to use this company for my home loan but was not able to. I was disqualified because my income comes from LEGAL cannabis sales. Thats right.I fought for my country and help veterans DAILY who dont want to be on medicine the VA gives them and this company would not serve me due to that.

Started the process and had terrible communication from the loan officer Justin. Justin stated he will contact tomorrow two different times without calling each time and then didn't respond to text when I asked for email follow-ups instead. I asked manager Austin to reassign and made it clear when he said he would have Justin reach out as promised that, no, I don't want Justin to do it after being told I would rather someone else who cares. Justin then reaches out hours later despite it being clear I was over working with someone who clearly didn't see my loan approval as large enough to be worth his time and was happy to switch my preapproval to a denial when I told him to withdraw my application. THAT was the fastest response I've ever received from Veteran United.
