Best Western Emporia Inn

After a long day's drive I was very disappointed to find my room not cleaned by maid service upon check in. They were full for the night and the kind gentleman at the front desk did all he could to accommodate me. I ended up in a room that had an outstanding work order for a major dip in the floor and inconsequentially no remote for the TV. A partial refund would have been nice or some sort of acknowledgement from management but I needed to get on the road before the manager showed up at 8. Housekeeping needs to get its act together as I see this isn't the first time this has happened.

God bless the receptionist, but she was a wee bit flakey. The beds were so so, linen nice. However the shower was dark and dingy. Loose fixtures. Breakfast was basic.

My four other stays this year were unremarkable and this one was going to be the same until. Until, as I surrendered my key before 8 AM I started with a reaction to my meds and I wanted to return to my room for a short while. On three occasions the morning manager came banging on the door, not to see if I was okay, but to urge my egress. He stated he needed the room and then housekeepers needed the room. I was feeling ill but not to the point where I needed medical attention. Overall, he was rude and insured I will not return. Food & drinks: Drinks and snacks were available in the lobby at reasonable prices.

Stayed here several times, each a good experience. They have great service and a breakfast bar with lots of options, healthy ones too!.
