Cobblestone Inn & Suites - Waverly

Great little hotel. Staff was great, breakfast was very good. Close to everything downtown has to offer. Will definitely stay there again when we are in town.

We had great service. The two men working were very gracious and adjusted to our needs despite the large number of people checking in. We had a few issues making our reservations but I would definitely go back again. Amazingly clean. Our son, who manages a hotel in Des Moines, was impressed with the cleanliness and service.

I spoke with H Wolff about staying the nights of 12/16 & 12/17. I ask if there was a senior discount or AARP & was told there was a 10% discount. I told her we had a dog & she quoted me $134.99. I assumed she was quoting what my rate would be with the dog. The $134.99 is considerably higher than I was used to paying but figured that with the $25.00 per fee I could accept that. When I found out that we were going to be charged $25.00 in addition to what I was quoted, it was too late to make further plans. I told her that she had not told me that there was an additional $25.00 in addition to the quoted $134.99, she kept insisting she did. I told her that we would not be staying there the next night, 12/17 because being retired I can't afford to be paying such a high rate. She told me to tell the person who would be taking over in a couple hours. We returned to the hotel later that night expecting to talk to the person in charge, but apparently she had not come to work, so I just told the man working that we would not be staying the next night. When we received our copy of the invoice I found that we were charged your full room rate, not given the 10% Senior Citizen or AARP rate. In addition to the taxes I expected, I was also charged a $2.00 safe warranty fee that was never mentioned. I don't believe the young lady was trying to cheat me but I was believed that the $134.99 plus taxes is what I was going to pay. I was charged around $50.00 more for the one night, than what I paid at the Comfort Inn in Cedar Falls. This was turned out to be exceptionally higher than what I would have had to pay at your two competing hotels in Waverly! Be very careful that you know the rate before you stay. They not only did not communicate that the price quoted did not include the $25.00 for the dog, they also did not give us a 10% senior discount. I see that someone said they would use our experience as a training opportunity. There was no saying that if we see the manager they would refund the overcharged amount! Very, very. Poor Management!!!!

Great place to stay in Waverly, Iowa. Friendly and accommodating staff, clean rooms and great location in downtown Waverly. Highly recommend if you're in the area and looking for a place to stay.
