Clean rooms, great wifi, great location, quiet and the owners are super nice and make you feel welcomed. Would definitely stay again!

We weren't able to shower during our stay because this place has rusted pipes or water heater, I tried to start the shower and a ton of flecks of rust filled the tub, literally covered the bottom, if you used only cold, the water was literally brown. I ran the water for 20 minutes to try to flush the pipes and this did nothing. The whole plumbing system needs replaced, not maintenanced. I cannot shower in that due to sensitive skin, not that I'd want flecks of rust in my hair anyway. I didn't ask for a different room to be fair, but using common sense I figured, if it's a small motel like this, most likely all the rooms run off the same lines, and I had already unpacked the whole room and set up our blind dog to get to know her surroundings. There are signs posted everywhere, no smoking inside, hey, I don't have any problem with smoking or smokers, but there were cigarettes ashes on top of the heat register next to the toilet, which tells me, someone had smoked in there, if the stains and smell wasn't obvious enough, or the numerous butts we found throughout the room and the headboard had been used to put some out on, but this also told me, they don't clean thoroughly. Every day there were kids screaming outside my window and it was not very relaxing. They also did not supply toilet paper, there is a dollar general in town so stop and grab some if you dare. The man at the counter was kind though, and had an extra blanket for my dog but seemed almost too distracted to let me ask him why he put us where he did, because we were the last room on the south side and he asked us not to use that area for the dog, instead to expect a blind dog sick with cancer to walk all the way to the very east side of the building, and he specifically asked us to leave her waste there and NOT pick up after our dog. There was also a big husky dog tied to a tree, animals are not to be left alone, dog had no food or water and was relentlessly wanting our attention. I felt super bad for this poor doggo and regret minding my own business about him. I would suggest to stay in Mason city and make the drive or take a gamble on the other motel in town. Iowa falls hotel isn't too bad either. Hamptons 3 choices aren't the greatest. At least this man was kind, but paying 270 to not be able to shower or have peace is not okay. The best part about this place was the seclusion. I will be making calls to the proper channels here about the condition of this place. If I had a child who needed a bottle, I'd have been irate finding out I'd made a bottle with dirty water. Rooms: Very small, they have pictures of the one large room they have in the pictures. The others leave barely any walking space and are not cleaned well. Linens seemed stiff so we used our own. Walkability: You will need to drive to get to a station. Its a couple mile walk into town. Noteworthy details: They do not provide toilet paper and the showers pump out rust.
