Hi Doug, I apologize that you feel that we didn't care about your concern when you came in to pick up your plates. Sounds like it may have been a good thing you had a warranty. Plus I'm sure, now that you are working at a competitive dealership, you felt the urge to bash the competition. I totally understand, but the one thing that I'm pretty clear about when I have to go through a secondary lender to get customers approved that may have no credit or not the best credit, the lender adds a warranty and gap to the loans. The reason the warranty and gap are added from the lender is to make up for the huge fee they charge us to get it approved. I always tell my customers that they can cancel at anytime, even the next day if they want. It doesn't effect us one bit. I try to be as transparent as I can to take care of my customers, but some customers are so anxious to get into their new ride that they don't pay attention to anything that I'm saying or even the paperwork that they sign. I also encourage customer to refinance once they get their credit built up, so they don't have to continue with the higher interest rates. I also give my customers copies of all the paperwork that they sign, because I understand the excitement and I want to make sure you have the opportunity to be able to go back, once the excitement wears off, to read everything thoroughly.
