Jim's Coney Island

Only positive was the onion rings, the coney was a boiled hot dog that was pretty much waterlogged. The only flavor was from the mustard, I'm not sure how chili can be so tasteless. Definitely not the same Coney as I remember from year's ago. Unfortunate as I would rather support small businesses over the big chain restaurants.

First time here in establishment and food was good, employees very polite. Its very clean.

I wanted a Double Cheeseburger and A Coney i couldnt decide which one so, I got them both! Absolutely delicious and of course you cant forget about their hand breaded onion rings! So good!

You probably drive by this place on the South Side a lot without ever stopping if you've never ate here before. But once you do you'll make it a regular spot of yours. This place has a little bit of thing like a little burger joint, plus some, only way better. The Coney Burgers are loose meat type sandwiches which I get with chili and cheese. Come served on a hot dog bun and are the best thing you will eat in all of Des Moines. If I dine in, I eat 1 there and take 1 or 2 to go, so the bun can soak up the juice by the time I get home and put some queso on it. Cheese curds here are some of the best I've ever had. Onion rings are great too. Can't really tell you about much else, because I always get the same items because they are so good. But everybody else I go with who orders different stuff has never been disappointed by anything on the menu. This is such a great local place. The only problem is that it's the only one in the Des Moines area. To the owners: Please open one in Altoona!!!
