Ive lived here for two years, and after a long time of apartment hopping I was so pleasantly surprised at the management and upkeep of the building, common areas are always clean and nice music playing in the lobby. The apartment manager is easy to talk to, and cares to get things fixed when they need to be! Thank you Democrat for having a residential space like this downtown

Dont rent here. The property manager comes across as normal until youre in the apartment, then maintenance requests and any issues you have will be ignored or deferred. She spends most of her time plopped outside of the back of the building smoking and playing on her phone (I feel bad for whoever lives in those apartments) while several things in my apartment went unfixed for months and complaints Ive sent to her just get left on Read. Shell tell you shes going to do something and then never follow through. Shell create smoke pits out back by the air intake for the building and then send out a mass email reminding us not to smoke in the building because shes been getting flooded with complaints I wonder why its just disappointing. Honestly, the building itself isnt terrible (if you can get over the personal trainer downstairs shaking the building every day) and while the apartments themselves are tiny and overpriced, its a decent setup for college students with minimal deposit. I just wish it was managed better.

I moved into the Democrat shortly after a divorce. After owning a home, acclimating to an apartment lifestyle came with a whole host of challenges I was not ready for at all. The people here were immensely helpful and hospitable. It didn't take long to feel at home and comfortable around the building. The staff has always been prompt in the event any issue comes up, though I have found that happens rarely at best. I'm throwing up this review because I really feel I've been looked out for lately. While continuing to go through some personal struggles, the building manager has been very supportive and a great ear, despite the fact that she always seems to be handling a boat load of her own work. It's people like her that make big differences. It's not her job to make me, or anyone else for that matter, feel like family, but she has certainly done that. And as a result I couldn't imagine making my home anywhere else until I decide to buy another piece of property. I can't even imagine how things would have gone for me had I not lucked out finding this great group of people over here. THANK YOU ALL!
