Had my Audi parked on 5th St. and someone struck my car at a high rate of speed and left the scene of the accident. Neighbors wrote down plates and make/model. Officer Vest and his trainee came the next morning when I discovered the accident. Within 6 hours of making contact with me they made contact with the hit & run driver and provided me with the insurance information.
At a bare minimum they saved me my insurance deductible, but probably a lot more.
I think Officer Vest and his trainee are exemplary examples of the best Cedar Rapids PD has to offer. Thank you CRPD

We went through on a quiet Sunday picking up a truck topper. Low and behold, I received not one, but two tickets for going nominally faster than their posted speed limit. HOW IS THIS LEGAL??? They can't tell who is driving! CITY OF CEDAR RAPIDS: RE-EVALUATE!!!

The police dont even use turn signals nor fully stop at stop signs.
No one is above the law and the people upholding it should be setting good examples.
Do better.
