UnityPoint Clinic Psychiatry - Cedar Falls

Disappointed with the lack of care Ive received in the last year. My pets get better care from their veterinarian. They call and make sure our sick pet is feeling better. I have never received a call or email to make sure I was doing well after a medication change. Overall, I dont recommend this clinic.

Absolutely horrible receptionist. Rude and not at all helpful. Their work day ends at 3 so don't expect any help from them past that. They also do not give notice when a provider you have been seeing goes on leave. Have been seeing the same provider for years. Need my meds refilled and an appointment to do so, turns out my provider is on leave and if I want meds refilled I'll have to do the new patient 80 minute appointment with a new provider, but this appointment has to be before 3 pm as the providers here don't work past that time.

Ive never had such a sexist experience with a doctor. I have been misdiagnosed for years and came to the clinic with a diagnosis I felt to be the most inclusive of my experience but was not taken seriously. The doctor used questionnaires based on the male model (which I recognize is the standard), but when I tried showing him the research I found that was more inclusive for women he immediately dismissed it as irrelevant. I tried to advocate for myself and shared my journey into why I came to the diagnosis that I did, but because I mentioned that TikTok inspired me to do more research, all he heard was TikTok and started mansplaining about how social media deceives people into thinking they have illnesses that they dont actually have. Im aware that social media is not an accurate source of information, which is why I also did research. He disregarded my opinions that I have spent years mulling over with my husband and picked out the things he wanted to hear. I anticipate to receive a misdiagnosis from Dr. Brown. I also called the number that Unity Point keeps posting below that supposedly connects you to a patient advocate to address your concerns in your review. It doesnt. The person on the other end sounded like they had no idea their number was posted as the patient advocate for Unity Point. I double checked that I dialed the right number and I had. Clearly, they dont value our feedback. All of the one star reviews are accurate and Im shocked that no one has tried to sue for malpractice. Do not go to this clinic.

The psychiatrist and nurse practitioner here have gaslit and misdiagnosed all three of my family members who have gone to them, including myself. Weve all gotten second opinions and have been baffled by the difference in care and compassion. Horrible reception, uninformed caregivers.
