I've had multiple less than satisfactory experiences with Trickles. Most recently I set up an appointment to have my ball joints replaced over a month ago. I drove the day of the appointment (a half hour drive) and had to have my ride out come even further (50 minutes) to then be told their alignment machine was down. I also had the same thing happen with them two years ago when they failed to call me to tell me the mechanic who did the alignments was sick with covid and out. No apology or anything was given either time. I've also had 3-4 times where they've worked on my cars and then failed to call me to notify me when they were done, only to end up calling them to find out it had been done for a day or two. With the recent repairs I had an issue with my truck not starting, I had to have them tow it in. I told them that it has two kill switches on it and showed them (which they should of already known as they have worked on it before). I also let them know the battery cables/terminals likely needed replaced and the issue with it not starting was likely related to the distributor, that there was a also coolant leak coming from the throttle body. I was given a call several days later telling me they had spent 4-5 hour just to get power to the car (I'm guessing they didn't flip the second kill switch which was on a key fob) to which I ask the owner who had called me personally if that was the case. He claimed it was not the case and they were pulling fuses and testing this and that.... In the end the mechanic said he "took the kill switch off because it was interfering with what he was trying to do" they then replaced said battery cables (charged me labor for all this messing around). I personally talked to the mechanic at this point and told him the starting issue was likely an issue with the distributor to which he said "he checked that and already ruled it out was going to replace the starter" which due to rust had snapped a bolt in the transmission case he was trying to get out. They charged me 950 dollars for this. I was also notified by the owner that they needed to replace both the throttle body and water pump and they wouldn't be able to get them in till the next week due to this. I then proceeded to call O'reilly auto parts who confirms they have said water pump needed and then called back to inform the owner. He then told me "I checked them all, they probably didn't have the right information" and "we'll get to you car but we have other cars to work on and will work on them since we have to wait for your parts come in next Tuesday"...... I'm still not sure how that is when I confirmed that the parts were in fact in stock at O'reilly's. I then don't hear anything from them for the rest of the week at which point I called them on Friday and was given a time frame of Monday for my truck being done, Monday rolls around and they call me saying they also want to replace the brakes as they're frozen to which I told them no, I can't afford the 1,000 they want charge me for brakes on top of 950 for the water pump and what I assumed was the throttle body and the 950 for the starter and the 1,000 for the ball joints. I told them to just park it and I would be in to pay up tomorrow. When I went in it appears they had bent my hood up again, something I had spoken to them about before and was only given excuses for by the owner. I was also told "We also replaced your distributor", no admission to anything done wrong or that they replaced the wrong part and also charged labor (950). They also didn't replace the throttle body they had mentioned replacing twice, just the plug and the gasket on top of that they left the battery kill switch off (likely the mechanic never did understand to hit the "on" button to work it and instead just left my negative battery cable off. $2,500 dollars and two weeks later and I'm taking it to another shop to get the ball joints done that should of been done by them the first time I took it in over a month ago. I will not be going back here.

I paid in full on the date of service $990.80 for two tires and an alignment. That was October 30th, 2023. Today, January 5th, 2024, I received a long-winded call suggesting that they had an adding machine error and upon balancing their books they discovered that I owed them an additional $115.56, two months after the transaction was complete. Now, Ive been on both sides of businesses (vendor and customer) and if I make an error (and this one is invisible to them considering their annual gross income and cash flow) as a vendor I balance my books and eat any minor deficit that is completely my fault and not in any way attributable to error on the customers side of the transaction. Yet Trickles had the audacity to call me and demand the additional funds to compensate for their adding machine error. I summed the charges on the original receipt and found that their actual error was a shortfall of $108 (unless my adding machine was faulty and gave the same faulty result after three repetitions). Nonetheless, I paid the bill (actually I rounded to $116 just for the heck of it) because I believe in good karma and hope they have had their adding machine fixed, perhaps using the additional funds they received from me, so other customers are not the unfortunate recipients of surprise, blood pressure elevating, and aneurysm-inducing phone calls requiring them to pay more money after paying the bill in full on the date of service and the only one to which they are legally contractually bound.
