Ive been to almost every nail salon in Ames, and this one is by far the worst place Ive gone to get them done. I showed the gal a picture of what I wanted done and said I wanted the length and color with chrome and slightly almond tips. She then proceeded to not do the shape, length or chrome coloring. Very unhappy and would definitely recommend going somewhere else. Pictures added for comparison of what I got and what I asked for.

Ive had my nails done 5+ times here but two of those times (birthday nails and regular full set) with this same technician and were not the best experiences. This recent time was the worst I would say: cut my cuticles/rough skin and bled throughout the whole appt (no apology - fingers were hurting) spilled products on table, applied clumpy gel polish and overall rushed through the appointment. When rushing through, its easy to make mistakes and overlook details. I went in at 1pm on a Friday and not many people were there. No need IMO to do everything quickly and get me out the door. I understand its close to XMAS, but still. Asked for a nude/beige and tech kept pushing for a pink color, to which I told her I didnt want that so it was a little difficult there, but not a big issue. Overall, Ive had better-looking nails. Will be checking out a different salon next time.
