Midtown Dentistry

Alert: Do not go to this dentist under any circumstances. Last May, I was promised a refund for an accidental charge and it was never received. We went back in December for our 6 month cleanup and the staff had changed. The new dentist (Karlene Guasteferro) did my cleaning, they apparently had zero dental hygienists on staff. It was the worst cleaning Ive ever had in over 30 years of dental visits. After the insurance processed, we discovered that they denied the claim due to the new dentist not being covered. The staff never informed us before our appointments. My wife called to alert them of this, and was assured it would be taken care of according to staff member Jeb. After over a dozen calls (most unanswered or not returned) we kept receiving bills from a Michigan address, despite Jeb saying it would be taken care of. I spoke to Jeb in March 2024 and was asked to send my insurance EOBs to Jeb and I did so immediately. He confirmed that he received them. I never received a single response after that confirmation. I called again, twice, leaving messages in April 2024 and they were not returned. Fed up, we gave in and paid the bogus bills to avoid being reported to credit agencies (see other recent reviews). This dentist is unethical and a poor excuse for a business now. Stay far, far away.

Would leave zero stars if I could. Last week appointment had to be cancelled due to them not having a dentist. Came to my appointment today only to find a note on the door that they are closed. No call, no text, nothing. All this after waiting for six months to properly submit items to insurance. (Which still hasnt happened). Highly suggest finding dental care somewhere else.

New ownership has ruined this place. They failed to communicate a bill to me and it ended up being reported to credit bureaus. While handling this I found that they no longer answer their phones apparently and wasted a great deal of time trying to call them to pay the bill that they wanted resolved. 0 client support.

My visit was for cleaning and assessment. Everyone was respectful and professional. I have gone to Midtown for almost 10 years. Like others who have reviewed this office, I have experienced changes in staff and dentists. I had never taken the opportunity to review the care or staff before. I have been seeing Nissa for my teeth cleaning. She did a great job with my cleaning and provided me with suggestions to help with periodontal issues which are healing. The dentist cleaned my teeth during this visit and was very thorough. We discussed my continued treatment plan. Excellent visit!

The only reason I stuck around Midtown after Dr. Anschutz passed years ago was because its been hard to find a new dentist while Ive been in school. I dont even know the names of the dentists that took over because theyve never introduced themselves, and even years and years later I still dont know which is which. Several other dentists Ive been to have said that theyve done a terrible job on the crown they gave me. 2 years later my tooth got reinfected because of the bad crown and I had to get a new one because the original was not sealed all the way and was so thin it was on the verge of breaking in half. My last visit at midtown, I practically had to force the dentist to stay in the room and check a deteriorating filling thats been sensitive. He didnt even lean the chair back to look at my teeth. He stood by my chair, stuck 2 fingers in my mouth and wiggled them around like I was a show dog. Barely 2 minutes after my exam the dentist tried leaving and had to call him back. Sorry for the long rant, but goes to say after 20 years at Midtown, I wont be going back.
