This is a formal complaint about the handling of the water outage on North Mount Tabor Road, Ellettsville, for the days of December 1-4, 2023. The water was cut off on Friday, December 1st at 11:30 am. There was no notification from BBP Water Corporation about this outage. When we called BBP, we were notified there was an outage due to a Smithville contractor hitting a line and a comment that a boil order would be required when service was restored. There was no estimate about when water would be restored. We signed up for online alerts December 1st at 12:30 p.m. Our home relies on water to operate the heating and cooling, so not only were we without water, we were also without geothermal heat during this outage. On December 4th at 7:00 am water was restored, after 60 hours without water. The only way we knew the water was restored was to check the website and see that the outage notice had been removed. Again, there was no notification sent about this change in status, even though we were signed up for outage alerts. Also, there was no notice posted about how long the boil order would last. This is a biohazard to not notify water customers that a boil order is required after service is restored and tell them how long the boil order is in effect. This is a request to change your business processes and notify all customers immediately about water outages and again upon service restoration. The service restoration notice should include the day and time the service was restored and the length of time for the required boil order.

Received a boil water order last week but never received an ok to use message. I called them and was told that I received the boil order by mistake. When asked why I didn't receive a correcting message I was told that was another error. Now I can't depend on receiving any message from this company correctly.
