Shelby co, you must understand, has a good ol boy Justice system. Throughly corrupt to the level of a 1950s hick southern stereotype That protects grifters, drug dealers/manufacturers, felony animal torturers, human trafficking etc Any attorney that practices in this arena must adhere to the rules of the Real Boses. Backroom deals are the rule not the exception. If you play nice you advance(Sean Eberhardt ring a bell?)if not, go somewhere else. My experience with Chris Starkey is this: Chris follows the first rule taught the first day of law school, Get Yours First! Tell the client anything just get them to pay up front. Telling my wife & I that the opposing counsel should recuse himself as he had represented us years ago and it wouldnt be ethical (your probably laughing at the idea of an ethical lawyer and your right) only he didnt. Ill file a motion to dismiss, Im very confident itll succeed..its black letter law. Only it didnt. Oh well you can appeal but thatll cost more money then the suit is for. I dont discount that both lawyers had an agreement to do as little as possible making enough to cover a couple days of their respective vices and hey, screw the client, after all, theyre not part of the club. And when he exhausted all local avenues, he much a coward to call and speak with me, instead contacting my wife. His screw up, he should eat the appeal fee. My experience aside, Bottom line is that that as the system is now you are better off handling matters yourself, or finding a Noble Paladin!

Jim Lisher has served Shelby County for many years as Prosecutor and as head of the Public Defender program recently.  He is a very capable and accomplished attorney who is experienced in many areas of general practice.  I recommend Jim Lisher to anyone needing legal services in the Shelby county and surrounding areas.
