H&R Block

Terrible service, so much higher than a local CPA for less service... once your taxes are complete, you will never get a call back until it's time to reschedule. The direct deposit card they sold me on for some perk, had my money removed as soon as it was deposited, the corporate number doesn't speak English and it took months before I got my money, definitely an inside job although they basically accused me of somehow allowing my account to get hacked before I got to spend a penny of it. My taxes for one w2 was around 400? The headache h & r will give you during this situation, would not be worth it if it were free and you got an extra fifty thousand!!!

Don't don't don't!!!! Find a local CPA if you don't do ur own (Ive always used TurboTax, it's easy n quick) but last year it showed I owe the state, thinking I MD a mistake, I went to HR Block...the lady who I dropped the paperwork off to, didn't follow up in a few days, so I came bk (45 min drive from my hse) n a man finished my taxes...approx $400.00 just to tell me my employer MD a mistake n I do owe the state $600.00. TurboTax was accurate for approx $100.00! When I go to leave I ask for my daughter's ss card n misc docs, n he tells me he can't find them...he will hv the lady call me...she calls a week later to schedule appt to finish my taxes...I explain I just need my kids ss card, taxes are done, shes upset at the loss of commission, n says they are in the ofc....since NOVEMBER of last year, I have called n left dozens of msgs, emailed, contacted corporate as well as other locations, and only TWICE have I been called bk, once by the man who finished the taxes, not to help his client, but to schedule an APPOINTMENT for 2024 taxes..I explained how I am STILL trying to get her ss card, I am disgusted that a broke single mom charged $400.00 is out of pocket waaaay more in just gas driving to the ofc (website said open, but was always closed) n 4 months of effort, n the preparers refuse to spend $2 to drop a ss card in the mail stating "Company Policy" just show they only CARE ABOUT $, CORPORATE GREED AT ITS FINEST!!! UPDATE: ITS 4-5-24, WAS CONTACTED BY THE SCHERERVILLE OFC CONFIRMING THEY HAVE IT. I'VE BEEN HERE SINCE 6PM TO PICK IT UP, ITS NOW 8:15PM.... I'M ABOUT TO CRY. I DESERVE BETTER, NOT JUST AS A PAYING CUSTOMER, BUT AS A HUMAN BEING. THE FINAL WORD WAS THE WOMAN WHO CALLED DOES NOT REMEMBER WHERE IT IS, THEY CANT FIND IT, I HV TO CONTACT A MGR BC ITS PROBABLY LOCKED UP WITH LAST YEARS TAXES. THEY THINK.
