We bought a house in 2018 with the intention of fixing it up and selling it. My husband and I only knew at that time we wanted more land. After a few years, we started a business helping complex trauma survivors through horse therapy. The only problem was that we lived in a private lake community and barely had the land for our chickens, let alone horses. We started looking for property in 2021. Meanwhile, I worked with someone else on a horse farm doing our work. If you don't know the struggle of finding an AFFORDABLE property in this economy, it's because you haven't looked or you live under a rock. The house we needed was also specific. It needed to be in Morgan County, at least 3 acres, have easy access to the highway, and most importantly, it needed to be semi-easy to get it listed commercially. Yep, I needed a unicorn. I needed all of this for an affordable price, also. I had worked with a really good finance lady before, so I was going to use her again. I got the preapproval and found a semi-unicorn. This house was already listed commercially; it had a huge barn, and it was three acres. The disadvantage was the house was completely tile. The walls - tile, floors - tile, and if anything went wrong, we would have to tear all the tile out to get to pipes, etc. This was a sacrifice we were willing to make. I think I should add that my husband can do anything house-related. The house already had an offer. We made our offer, and it was accepted. However, the 1st offer had the right to jump through the hoops and get the house, which they did. I could tell Crystal was really disappointed and didn't want to tell me. I looked at her and said, "God has something better for me." Which I believed. Patience has never been a quality I have, but God has amazing talents for reminding me that patience is a virtue. After months and months of waiting, Crystal called me one day. She suggested that I go look at this house and see if the land worked. This was our agreement before I wasted either of our time. I would go look at the land to see if it would work, contact my person at zoning to see if they think I will get resistance, then if all of them things check, we would go look inside of the house, which for the record, I didn't care what the inside looked like, My husband can do anything. My husband and I went to the property. It was more than I had ever dreamed of, and it wasn't listed for sale yet. I saw the land and said, "YES, THIS IS IT". Crystal was out of town for her birthday, so she had someone else take me to look at it. Apparently, you have to look inside before you can put an offer on a house. Meanwhile, I started having problems with my finance company calling me back. So Crystal suggested I call her friend, Julie. She said Julie was a wizard, and SHE WAS A WIZARD for sure. For $100,000.00 less than the last property we made an offer on (the one with the tile), I got a breathtakingly beautiful home sitting on over 5 acres, with a pond, 2 sheds, a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom, home with a tree-lined driveway and one neighbor. I don't know how it happened, but every day, I wake up to watch the sunrise in my perfect paradise. When I say Crystal made my dreams come true, I mean it literally. I never thought I would get something like this in my budget. Between Julie and Crystal, I am living my best life. My dreams have become a reality, and I'm forever grateful for her hard work and dedication! Crystal took on a hard task, and she knocked it out of the park. She far exceeded any expectations I had. This was not my first home sale or purchase, and may not be my last, but for sure, I will never do it again without Crystal and Julie. My favorite thing about Crystal is she HEARD me and my needs. Even with the highest of expectations I had, she never gave up, and when she found something coming on the market that may have met my needs, SHE JUMPED!
