I needed an unusual screw. #6 by 1 3/4 to 2 inch length. Brass or similarly colored. Countersink style. Couldnt find anything like this at any big box or other hardware store. Ted at Ace suggested Fastenal. I didnt know it was an option and wanted to keep the purchase local rather than Amazon. Dont have an account at Fastenal either. I need about 350. Home Depot actually had a few on hand for about $0.70 each. Way too expensive and way too few anyway.
Fastenal actually had a box in California but they were actually brass and would have cost way too much. But the guy helping me took me back to check their stock. Wow!! They had a box of exactly what I wanted (dichromate). 900 for about $70. Ok, I had to buy the whole box since they dont split things up but even so, the cost was so low I consider it a pretty decent deal. And this after he expended almost a half hour on me. Kudos to Fastenal for going the extra yard.
