Assembly Line Dentistry: I took my two-year-old grandson in for a check up. I don't know which dentist we saw. He did not introduce himself to me or my grandson, nor did he introduce the assistant. He did not ask my name or my grandson's name. It was into the chair, restrain the child, and let him scream because he's 2 and that's what 2-year-olds do. No explanation of what was happening (until I asked) and then just, "we're making your smile shiny, 'Buddy." How about: "I'm going to put something noisy in your mouth and it will tickle. And you''ll be okay." Condescending treatment of both of us. You don't have to tell me how 2-year-olds think, Dr. Old White Guy (since that's all I have to go on). I'm a retired educator and I know this particular kid a lot better than you do. Instead of lecturing me, maybe ask me something about this particular kid. And what kind of pediatric practice has just four broken toys in the lobby?
