Law Office of Aftin R. Brown

I have been calling to get my divorce documents for 6 months all I get is a answering service to take my info and they say they give it to "someone" that never gets back to me.

Aftin Brown, is an awful, horrific attorney. She is lazy, a crook, dishonest, and cannot keep a calendar. I hired her to represent me in June of 2020. She assured me that she could get my case resolved. I paid my retainer fee and she made one phone call on my behalf in a year. She lied and told me that opposing counsel was unresponsive when in fact she never returned their phone call or voicemail. She isnt punctual. She was late to court each time we went, then decided to no longer represent me the day before I had to go to court (she had 30 days to let me know). The only reason why she told me is because I emailed her the day before. Had I not emailed her, she would not have shown up to court. She did not provide a 10-day withdrawal notice as required when withdrawing from a clients case. Shes very rude, dishonest, unprofessional, and downright despicable. She has yet to return my retainer fee after several attempts. If you value professionalism, courtesy, honest, punctuality, and a good attorney, please do not hire her. It will be best that you find a real attorney who will provide you with the services youve paid for. I wish I could give her less than one star. Shes absolutely awful. BEWARE!

I hired aftin to handle a restraining order case. I ended up being held in contempt due to a document not being turned in and after being questioned about it in court I realized she did not even know about it. It was an immediate dismissal of my case and now I owe the other party $5,000. I have another court case coming up for these fees and have had no contact with Aftin other than You hired me for this. I even offered more money and already paid a hefty retainer. She completely abandoned me, her client and definitely did not help me fight my case. Very disappointed with this attorney.. save your money please
