Arrived at reception approximately 3:16pm for lab and X-ray. Sign says lab closes at 3:30. There was a young lady who checked me in. I sat there for an about 5-8 minutes. The lab tech (Tracie) comes out and I notice immediately that she kind of rolls her eyes and sighs out loud. Calls my name and seems to be very irritated. Very mechanical in all her formalities and doesnt even look at me. Only asked me to verify my name and birthdate. Sticks me with the needle and quickly draws my blood and tosses the vials on to the cart. Places a cotton ball on and tape, Tells me to go down hall for X-ray, she seems very irritable and rushed. Attitude is a better description. Walk out and blood starts running down my arm, the cotton ball is full. I go back to reception and ask for Kleenex. She calls the lab tech, Tracie to check it. Tracie, quickly removed the tape and cotton ball, wants to know if Im taking any blood thinners. I tell her no and that this has never been an issue before. She wraps it tight with another cotton ball and gauze and turns away. Its sad that as a patient, people are made to feel like they are an inconvenience. I dont like to give my blood, in fact it makes me quite nervous. I guess I came in too close to her closing timeMaybe. Or maybe she had a bad day, or maybe this is how she treats patients. I drove nearly an hour to see my doctor in Fort Wayne and this lab was on my route back home. It saved me from having to make another drive back.

First of all BEWARE and PLAN AHEAD, this takes time. You come with a Parkview lab order and yet while you even get to be the first in line, it takes a long time, like 25min just to verify your data which is in the system, you have your ID and insurance card and have been with them before and it's apparently not enough. Secondly, change of hours. This would also be something that should appear on the website or Google or be shared with the Parkview provider to ensure you don't make a trip for nothing. Last but not least: Apparently the better thinner needles are as I quote 'on shortage, Parkview doesn't want them to be used but rather reserved'. My question is, reserved for whom??? Apparently not for the out of pocket paying customer who is paying big money for the insurance! That's another real low, Parkview...
