Food was great but my family and I were thrown off by the huge Blue Lives Matter Flag in the Fishers location restaurant. For those who may not know:The phrase Blue Lives Matter emerged as a response to the Black Lives Matter movement. The flag is dismissive to the issues raised by the Black Lives Matter movement, which primarily addresses systemic racism and police brutality. **EDIT: In response to the owners comments** It is important to acknowledge that the emergence of "Blue Lives Matter" was in response to the momentum gained by the Black Lives Matter movement. Prior to the rise of Black Lives Matter, "Blue Lives Matter" was not widely recognized or actively promoted. This understanding is reflected in the prominence of search results, where the first thing on google says "Blue Lives Matter is a countermovement in the United States that emerged in 2014 in direct opposition to the Black Lives Matter movement." The association between the two movements is readily apparent. Therefore, it is crucial for businesses to recognize the implications of aligning with "Blue Lives Matter," as it conveys a specific message that customers are likely to discern.
