        This is THE place to go for golf carts. I bought a used golf cart last Spring and was given great advice on what I should consider (I have a very steep lot that leads to a boat dock). Was also given the right advice and very fair treatment on purchasing new batteries for the cart (not a Lithium ion cart). It has worked great since day one conquering hills and dales with grandchildren riding along. Thanks much to AACO and the McFall family.

        I went in to buy some battery cables and inquire about having some work done. They informed me they couldn't work on my cart as it's a Yamaha, which is fine. I then asked one of the guys if any of them worked on Golf Carts on the side. The manager immediately told me that employees were not allowed to do that as it can take business from the company. I tried to point out that this wasn't the case in this scenario as the company wouldn't work on my cart to begin with. The employee can't take work away from the company if the company doesn't do that kind of work to begin with, no? I then asked if it would be possible for me to call to ask a quick question if I ran into issues. I was mainly just curious how management would respond. The manager seemed to scoff and made some analogy about car dealerships not allowing mechanics to answer questions for people? Either way, it seemed odd. I get not letting employees moonlight due to concern it will take business from a company, but again, they refused to even work on my cart. Seems like an odd stance to take, refusing to help someone THEN also preventing employees from assisting that person for a baseless reason.

      Hello Geoff. You were told our techs do not do side work. these techs were upfront and answered your questions on side work when you asked AND WE stayed after closing since you were not going to make it by 5:00 or make it out of the store before 5 . I listened in and they sounded like they were to the point on your questions.At first you were wanting us to basically fix it for you while you were standing there after hours and didn’t even know the year or model, only thing we heard was “I don’t know and old Yamaha” . So the parts you asked for we had, we made the transaction and it’s understandable that it’s easier to say can I call and ask questions but to have that happen with a tech he would have to walk away from an original job and then you would be getting time someone else is paying for PLUS you had already been told it was probably to old of a Yamaha for us to work on. So your management response sounds correct . The techs up front are actually the ones who told you that. You can’t expect anyone to help you when you don’t even know what you have and on top of it we don’t work on the older cart so why would you think the tech would want to work it as a side job.?So really, it’s not an odd stance at all. And we stated all this upfront. I would suggest you have more information on what you have when you need parts for it, try to show up before closing if possible. And it’s not baseless if you don’t even know what you have when you’re asking. They just heard old non running Yamaha , that was enough. We don’t work on old non running Yamahas . And the techs do not either for several different reasons, not just because of the one you stated. I think the car dealer example was an example for you as I am sure they thought you might understand that .
