Great benefit for our city! This company will have planting supplies , trees and plants ( includes native types) in the spring. We can support this Crown Point business and not have to drive far. The greenhouse is spacious ( 7000 square feet) and has two furnaces during cold weather, several bathrooms for the customers and holds an occasional workshop or class from planting experts. I just attended a free class in January.

Niemeyer is a family owned local landscaping business, with deep ties in the community and local politics. They give back considerably in charitable contributions to Crown Point. So with that being said, I cant say they are not a blessing for our community. Im sure it took a very long time to build that Stellar reputation and image they want to perceive. My family has shopped at Niemeyer since 2016 when my wife and I purchased our first home. We never had a a bad plant or flower die prematurely. Purchased mulch and have had it delivered to my home. Never a issue. Heres where that image theyve worked so hard to maintain is shattered. I think a big family name in a small town that gets big praise and so many pats on the back so many times they may forget who (customers) put them in that position of notoriety. Mr Niemeyer was to to important to return a phone call, email, or text message. He lacks accountability, responsibility, liability or even negative feedback. So here are the facts. My wife was on her way home from work sitting idle at the red light in front of the Niemeyer's business at Indiana Ave waiting for the green light. When a Niemeyer employee that was parked in the middle of street/ median was obviously in a big hurry so he (crown point police said was illegal for the record ) decided to pull out in front of my wife a rock fell of the truck bed directly onto the windshield. Cracking my windshield. The rock DID NOT hit the pavement and bounce onto windshield. My wife was not following the truck to closely. She could do absolutely nothing-because my truck was not moving. We obey traffics laws and dont park illegally in the middle of the street where we shouldnt be. The rock fell directly from the Nienmeyer truck bed onto our windshield leaving a hole in it.. My wife followed the driver to the job site and informed employee of what happened he told her to call the company and inform nick. Why wife called me at work and told me what happened. I immediately called my State Farm insurance agent and asked if we should make cops to the scene to make a report. This is where my fault comes into play. My insurance agent said(gotta be a first for a insurance agent not to say call the cops lol) Nienmeyers should be understanding and fix what happened so no need to call the cops to the scene..call the owners and that being a big local business we shouldnt have problemsI reluctantly agreed and we ended our 3 way phone call. SHE COULDN'T OF BEEN MORE WRONG Day 2. My wife stopped and spoke with the manager that handles those situations the next day. ( I work 5:00- 5:30 pm everyday for 7 days a week. So by the time I get home Nienmeyers is closed) The manager acted bothered, his demeanor was as if he didnt want to hear it at all. Cutting her off when speaking. Saying it was impossible and couldnt of happened. She told the manger if you dont believe what Im saying watch your camera 8 months later and this business-never made good on the mistake..Owner told me I could stop in and speak with them again..I knew it would pointless because my wife and myself already done this and got nowhere. Complete run-a-round. They must be bullet proof because of there connections because they never would accept responsibility for there mistakeI ended up paying for my windshieldIm a hard working father of 2 baby girls. What wouldve been a drop in the bucket for Niemeyer ended up taking the food off my table.
