If this were my first experience getting a hydrafacial I would not have gotten a second one. As soon as I mentioned the word Groupon I feel the experience got immediately demoted to a discount version. She asked if I lived "far away", which was a really strange way of putting it. Now I realize she was trying to gauge if I was going to be a repeat customer. (I live out in the country. I drive an hour and 10 minutes to get my hair cut. NBD.) When I got one before, the technician made three distinct passes with different products and she very thoroughly covered every bit of my face. This person sort of dotted around my face and only did two passes. She tried to upsell me on extractions, mentioning that the facial came with t-zone extractions only and did I want the full face. I said no to the extras. Well apparently it didn't come with any because she didn't do any. Didn't do steam. During the facial she spent a good portion of the time talking and "educating" me about products she had for sale without actually doing anything to my face. The "head massage" lasted about a minute. It was a pretty stripped down experience and I definitely didn't leave with that "WOW CLEAR SKIN!" feeling I got the first time I got a hydrafacial. My pores looked exactly the same as before. This was a total waste of money and I will only go to a dermatologist-associated spa from now on. Feedback for the spa: Treating people as if they are not going to return is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Groupon is an opportunity to WOW people who otherwise never would have crossed your door. If all you do is "meh" them because you don't think they will return -- the *definitely* won't.
