Painting with a Twist

Jo the artist was easy to follow at first but became harder to follow as the painting went along. Her painting looked only vaguely like the original and lacked the things I liked most about the original (style, colors). I found some of her instructions impossible to follow due to the poor quality and condition of the smaller brushes (bristles very short from use, difficult to pick up much paint). She wasn't very friendly and seemed put out by requests so I didn't feel comfortable asking for a new brush. I ended up with something I'm relatively ok with, but nothing like what I was hoping for. I didn't expect perfection; I just wanted to capture the spirit of the original, especially the colors. She didn't do and couldn't teach either of those things. If I do painting with a twist in the future I will go to a different location.

Painting has become my new hobby and I love it. The teachers are always kind and patient with the students. They want us to learn but also have fun at the same time.
