Lucas Cemetery

Lucas Cemetery is located in a residential area in Clear Creek Township, Monroe County, Indiana. Its located on a corner lot and there isnt any parking reserved for those wanting to visit so the only option is to pull off in the grass. Its a very small cemetery with a few hundred graves, but if you walk around and look closely you will notice several headstones from the 1800s. I remember seeing one or two civil war headstones intermingled with a few modern headstones. I came here looking for my 3rd great grandfathers grave and succeeded in my endeavor. However, I would love to know more about this place that contains the final resting place for some of Monroe Countys first inhabitants.
