We have spent many summer days at this campground and love it. We will continue to stay at this campground every summer. There is so much to do at the campground it's self, but there is lots to do in the surrounding communities as well. It has a friendly atmosphere and a clean. There are a variety of campsites, private, open, and buddy sites. They have water fill stations and a dump station. Drawbacks are no sewage hook up, and you have to book 6 months in advance, or you won't get a good spot if at all. Playground: There are three nice playgrounds and s basketball court. Restrooms: There are four modern bathrooms with shower connected and three pit toilets. Dog-friendliness: The campground is very pet friendly. We've never had an issue taking our dogs. Of course, they need to be on leashes or tied down. Pick up after them. Keep them from barking all night. Don't leave your pet alone on campsite for long periods of time. And don't let them interact with the wildlife. Picnic area: There are lots of picnic areas with pavilions

Drove through the campground on the off season just to check it out, and the deer seemed extra tame and weren't afraid of me from 20 feet away. Many of the electric camping spots had excellent lake views.

One of my top state parks to visit! There's so much to do around the lake, there's the state forest and a couple different nature preserves to go to and also other Rec areas around the lake. There is plenty to keep you busy, especially if you like hiking or boating. I go there primarily to hike and there are countless miles to see!
