Cirine Hair Removal & Skin Care

The following is my own experience with Precision Hair Removal. A big selling point of this service is the twilight sedation and numbing, so as to allow the electrologists to perform several hours of work on the patient. Unfortunately, the twilight sedation had no effect on me, except nausea. The medication is a benzodiazepine (same drug class as Valium, Xanax, etc.) called Versed, which for me didn’t lessen the feeling of excruciatingly painful lidocaine injections. My understanding is that in order for the dose of Versed to have a more powerful sedating effect, the patient would have to be hooked up to traditional monitoring equipment - which I did not experience. The lidocaine shots are injected with large syringes and thick gauge needles deep into the skin below the nose, around the lips, in the cheeks and jaw, in the chin, neck, etc. I can’t emphasize enough how bad these injections were. For me, the intended numbing lasted about 20 minutes before wearing off - at which point it would have to be re injected. The pain only got worse as the day went on. After completing the 5 to 6 hour session that day, the healing afterward was very uncomfortable. My skin was oozing with pus, and was rough, scaly and tight. This persisted for about a week and a half, even though I was using the recommended cream and following all aftercare instructions. My own research indicates that this swelling is a byproduct of the lidocaine rather than the electrolysis itself. As far as results, the initial clearing on my face lasted for about 3 weeks, and then my facial hair started to come back in mass quantity - identical to how it was before. I didn’t notice a reduction in growth, change in growth cycle, change in density or color. I feel like I wasted thousands of dollars for literally nothing. In the months since, the growth has only gotten worse. There’s no way I only have 40% of hair left to clear, as was the original goal when I was sold this package. Of all the transition related surgeries and procedures I’ve been through, this was without a doubt the worst.
