Just a lovely and beautiful place to be. Also, so close to the Bahai'i Temple. Both very serene and peaceful places.

Whether you live in the city or surrounding suburbs, Wilmette is a beautiful place to visit. There is a huge park with gardens to explore, a playground, volleyball and tennis courts, and a gorgeous beach to relax at. Gillson beach is open to the public, while Wilmette beach to the left of it is private and only residents can visit or you may buy a day pass and pay for parking to park in the lot. Otherwise you can snag a free spot on one of the residential streets before the park and walk over to Gillson. The gorgeous homes and mansions are a site for sore eyes as youre driving through. This is the ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and it feels as if youve teleported to a beach in Italy. The best days to visit are during the week, and it is much busier over the weekends so try to get there early or during lunch time to snag a parking spot as families and kids from summer camp are getting ready to leave for the day.
