image Weve been doing mighty tykes for a year. If you have a normal rambunctious boy, stay as far away from classes with coach Sarah as possible. She doesnt have patience with boys who want to move around, run, laugh and play. She wants them to be soldiers, and calls the 3-4 year old big kids who know better if they dont do what she says perfectly. She regularly tells the kids that if she catches them messing around, the one she sees is the one whos going to get in trouble. Seriously youre telling a 4 year old they are in trouble? You couldnt think of another way of saying you had a behavior expectation? She has said this to kids including mine right in front of me. She pulls boys (and yes its always the boys) and tells them everything they are doing wrong. She makes them sit out for things they apparently did wrong but dont even understand what that is because they are so little. Also because she doesnt physically demonstrate very much, she gets very irritated if kids dont follow her instructions to a T. She regularly sends boys to the back of lines because they ran a certain way. But guess what - with a different instructor not one of the kids gets pulled aside, yelled at, berated. I wonder why? Maybe they actually understand normal child development? Maybe they actually run with the kids so they can follow by example as they should at this age? Sarah needs a serious class in normal child development and behavior to be teaching little kids under 5 and most importantly HOW to talk to kids. The weird guttural voice she does is a huge fail. Use that on older kids, not little ones who are still developing language skills. The other teachers weve had have been great. Unfortunately we have consistently been stuck with sarah. After a year of giving it our best will not be returning unless we know for sure Sarah is not their coach. Oh and if you need any evidence, I have pictures and videos and am happy to share.

Hi Uzma, I am going to send you an email to connect with you directly and discuss further. We apologize for the experience that you shared and wish we would have known of your frustrations sooner so that they could be addressed. We will make sure to speak with Coach Sarah and ensure this behavior is not taking place during the Mighty Tykes classes.

If I could give this place infinity stars I would. Since my last post I have had two more children who absolutely love coming to active child care. All of the classroom teachers are amazing and I personally get to witness all the hard work that goes into planning their daily activities. What 12 week old comes home with a million projects and keepsakes? It has truly been a blessing and my two littles look forward to coming every day.
Now on to the After School Sports and Summer Fun Camp 2.0. A big shout out to Devin Williams who does an amazing job coordinating the field trips and making sure all things run smoothly. Each and every coach there, Mike, Gwen, Anthony, Gee to name a few, are amazing and give their all to the kids. My 11 year old is practically on a field trip every day of the week to places such as Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor, and Museum of Ice Cream to name a few. God forbid I try to keep her home to spend some time with me. She even went on her 11th birthday last week as she did not want to miss out on the field trip. To all the staff throughout the building and behind the scenes thank you from the bottom of my heart. Devin your hard work does not go unnoticed and it is very much appreciated. Thank you all to making all 3 of my kiddos feel safe and loved while under your care. Please keep up the good work.
Moved to the area in July and was looking for a new before and after school care program for my daughter and I have to say that Im glad we found Westmont Yard. During this pandemic they have followed all the precautions necessary to keep our kids safe all while having fun. My daughter is extremely happy. I cant even get her to stay home on days theres no school lol. Thank you all for doing an amazing job given the curve balls this pandemic has hit us with. You all are doing an amazing job!

image My son loves westmont yard. The coaches are very friendly & just overall awesome. Coach Vanessa is always ontop of everything, coach Rebecca is a sweet heart & great with the kids. Devin is ontop of any issue the parents have and immediately resolved it. Great communication. Your kids are in great hands here. Weve had nothing but great experiences! So bummed we moved to Naperville so now we are transferring locations but if we didnt move we would for sure continue to go here for after school & summer camp.

image Had my 6 year old daughters birthday at Westmont Yard. They did a fabulous job and the kids had an absolute blast. Our coordinator Kirsten was wonderful keeping the kids on track and running field games with them. Easy for parents and great fun for the kids. Kudos!
