Another excellent experience with Roto-Rooter. Always very professional on the phone and on site. Scheduling was easy. Serviceman arrived on time and went to work on my water heater. I've hot water again @ quite reasonable cost. Convenient, pleasant, efficient and effective ! I'll be calling Roto-Rooter again for my appliance service needs. Services: Drain cleaning, Faucet repair, Water heater repair

First worker: truck breaks down mid-job.
Second worker: leaves with the job not completed (said camera work wasn't necessary), $460.
Third worker: reschedules after I took off work.
Third worker, second attempt: attempts the same job.
Fourth worker: checks with camera to ensure the job is done; finds a slight crack, offers financing for $10K. Discontinued work due to a liability from their equipment.
I asked why I paid full price if the service wasn't completed, I asked why they sprayed 3 times THEN decided they couldn't. I asked about standardized procedures and process flow to understand why workers are doing things differently each time. I received vague answers with no real context or justification.
Currently the roots are now at the back of my drain (confirmed by the camera), making the situation worse than it was prior to the service. Mind you, I paid $460.
Ops Manager: claims they can spray and I'm still within warranty. I ask if I should reschedule, he says yes.
Fifth worker: no call no shows, after I requested off work.
Receptionist: says I'm not within warranty, so if they spray -- I would be charged full price (after they said spraying was a liability for their equipment).
Ops Manager: backtracks from previous statement. Says I'm not under warranty. Says Rootto-Rooter needs to proceed with the $10k to replace a pipe.
Inconsistent. A circus. Rude. Treated with eye-rolls from day one. Paid full price for an incomplete service, no diagnostics performed prior. Ignored. Loss time from my job. Everyone was nonverbally and quick to leave with the exception of the supervisor who went into detail about taking out loans to fix the issue.
Between the workers, supervisors, managers and receptionists -- I spoke with 10 people who had no alignment and each said something to contradict the last each time.
The entire process felt like a grift.
Essentially -- I paid for:
1) a waste of my time
2) being taken away for my job
3) worse conditions than when I started
4) a frustrating two weeks
After all that, they request I use them in the future. Why would I trust this company that is so dysfunctional with $10K? Why would I expect them to perform a large job correctly, when they can't complete the basics or communicate properly?
Side note: all the receptionists were friendly.

UPDATE: I received several texts/calls from management after posting this attempting to rectify the situation.
Please note, I don't want your help. I don't trust the help that you can provide is going to be worth my time, money or effort. I've learned I cannot even trust someone to show up.
You had a scheduled window this morning. I was told to cancel it this morning because the decision to fulfill my initial job (which was paid for) was changed without informing me, again. I had to call. Again.
THEN, one negative review and two hours later everyone wants to help. I think that paints the clear picture.
Through all this back and forth, not one offer of a refund when the initial service was unfulfilled. Service: Drain cleaning

They were quick to respond and super nice. I casually mentioned another issue and they was able to tell me what it was and also how much it would be to repair and came back the next day to fix it as well. Service: Plumbing pipe repair
