I've always had a really tumultuous experience with this company but unfortunately we can't afford to go with another one. Recently our experience with our insurance agent was no different except this time we had over $500 taken out of our account without us knowing what was going on because of his mistake and lack of communication with the rental company we used (the one that Horace Mann is supposed to coordinate with). The rental company told us they had been trying to get ahold of him for the better part of a month while we had the rental (he had told us not to worry, we would have the rental for a month and at this point we were turning it in BEFORE that period had even ended). It didn't matter. The original order wasn't for a month so they needed his approval for an "extension" but he wouldn't call back or answer the phone. I understand if you're busy in this job but if you do your job correctly the FIRST time and do what you tell your customers you're going to do then there should be no drama and no need to back track and have to return $500 to your customers who don't have $500 just to throw around. When I confronted him about this he acted like I was getting upset for no good reason & said we would have it back asap...he acted like it was no big deal. Apparently he has money to throw around, just wish he wouldn't have confused that with US (his customers who he knows nothing about) having money to throw around.
