Made an appointment with me to give me an estimate and never showed up. Have called twice since then to see if they were ever coming with no response. I even managed to get more money for the renovation and still, nothing. If they didn't want to do the reno then just tell me and not make an appointment with me and waste my time. Very unprofessional.

I can't speak directly to their contracting work as I was unable to hire them.  This review is about their communication ability.  I was looking to hire Safeguard to remodel a basement bathroom and possibly next door laundry room.  I believe it was Chris who came out and took a look at the job.  This was right before a holiday week and he said he'd get back to me with estimates by Friday in 2 weeks.  When I did not get a call by the date, I called back myself the following Weds.  Chris was "in the field" but he would get back to me.  Cue another wait.  I made one more attempt on Friday and this time was told Chris would get back to me as soon as he finished with another client in the office.  No call this time either.I have no idea why I was ghosted.  I don't know if my project was too small, my budget too small (5 figures for a bathroom), or my expectations unrealistic.  It would be nice to know as I may have been able to adjust my expectations.Safeguards pictures look like they do good work, but I'll never know because their communication sucks.

Safeguard General Contracting is finishing up the third project they've done for us. The most recent is a room addition. Previously they did 2 bathroom remodels. I am so happy with the work that they've done for us. The work and the communication is excellent. I'm so pleased with this current project and look forward to working with Chris and Dean again. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

We contracted Safeguard Construction Inc. in Springfield, Il to remove our tub/shower combo and install a walk-in shower. The process of choosing Safeguard and the actual work was very smooth. Our experiences with them before, during and after our shower replacement was all we expected plus more. Starting with the management team of Dean and Chris on to the working with their carpenters Scott and Brownie and their lead plumber Clint. We are very pleased with their attention to detail, respect for our home and to us. We highly recommend this Safeguard Construction Company. Butch & Sue Springfield, Il
