I get the impression this is mainly a lobbying group. I agree with their goals but they send out too many solicitations. I called to be taken off the mailing list.

Thank you to the IEC for giving our not-for-profit the opportunity to host our ThanksLiving vegan potluck at their facility! Vegan diets can drastically minimize your individual impact on climate change, water usage, land usage, and much more and we appreciate the opportunity to share how delicious and accessible vegan food is in Central Illinois.

We asked this group for help with an environmental issue we face here in Chicago, the construction of a mid-rise building, inside Jackson Park. This plan calls for cutting down between 800 - 1,000 trees, building four buildings, on twenty acres of this lakefront Park. This IEC has not done a thing, and may be an organization in name only. A do-nothing group.
