    If you're looking to rent from a trustworthy company M2 is not it! M2 Property recently bought out the Apartment complex that I live in. Upon taking over the property, they initially tried collecting a balance that they claimed I owed from prior management. When I asked for an itemized receipt showing where the balance came from, I was told they didn't have anything to reflect the balance. I was then told that they would remove the balance from my account. (This was in March 2021) In August, they decided to add this balance back to my account without letting me or any other tenants know that they had now changed their minds about making us pay the balance. I reached out to property manager, who then referred me to who her manager, who is the one who initially told me that they wrote the balance off. After speaking with her she informed me that the regional manager, decided to go and add the balance back to the accounts and chose to not inform tenants before doing so. I spoke with that regional manager yesterday, who was incredibly short and condescending with me. I tried to explain to her how this looked to the tenants. Telling us one thing and then secretly adding the balance back on the account. She explained to me that the old management is demanding that those balances be paid. Which may be true, however M2 already told tenants that they would not have to pay said balance. If M2 misinformed their tenants they need to take ownership of that and resolve the balance on their own. When I said this to the regional manager, she said "I'M NOT REMOVING ANY BALANCE AND YOU CAN TAKE IT UP WITH THE OLD MANAGEMENT". I then asked for her to provide me with the name of someone I could contact from the old management. She ensured me that she would email the contact information yesterday along with the name of her boss. She did not follow through with doing that. I then reached out to my property manager and asked for a full copy of my ledger. What was sent over was inaccurate and further made me lose trust in M2. On My ledger in march you can see where the added this mysterious balance on my account saying it was prior management, immediately after you see the balanced removed. Then you see it added back on in March 2021. This reflects to show that this balance has been a running balance on my account, which is not true, the balance as added in August of this year. I reached out to my property manager's boss asking her why they would do that and how misleading it was, she said that she did not alter the accounts but that the regional manager did. I said I either need to the account to reflect what really happened or I need something in writing explaining the situation. What I received back was something in writing saying that "M2 mistakenly took the balance off", rather than saying, "M2 told tenants they did not have to pay the balance and wrote it off, and then added it back on in August". M2 has shown that they are not people you can trust to stand by their word. They've also shown the level of respect that they have for their tenants. I have rented in C-U for years now, and have never experience such dishonesty from a rental company. Please reconsider renting from M2. Save yourself the headache and find a company that his honesty and trustworthy and values your business with them.
