Lake County Health Department - Midlakes Health Center

I love the doctors, theyre always great with my 2 year old but making appointments is a hassle. My son has a really bad cough and hes had it a few days. They told me there was an appointment today and I called back not even 20 minutes later and the appointment was no longer available. I cant wait until next week for my 2 year old to be seen. So now were going to have to go to the hospital for him to be seen. Awesome.

I had an amazing experience everyone was very polite and was assisted within minutes of me and my son arriving. Love loved Dr. Mina Girbes she took her time and actually made sure my son was properly cared for and asked the right questions. I didnt feel rushed at all Definitely recommend her services here. The place overall.

Fantastic first visit at this office. I followed Dr. Girbes from her previous practice at Advocate. She has been my son's doctor since he was just 3 months old. She is very patient and kind. She makes sure that all of my concerns are answered before the end of each visit. You can tell that she loves her job and she's very good at it. This clinic is blessed to have her working here. Before my son's appointment, I saw people posted online complaining about the wait time. In preparation for my son's exam, I packed a bag full of toys and his tablet. To my surprise there wasn't much of a wait time. Registration took a little longer, about 10 minutes, but that was understandable since they were training a new employee at the front desk. There was no line behind me since other staff from different areas started to check others in. Once we sat down we waited 3 minutes max. My son was worked up by Daisy and she was the sweetest. She was able to make my son feel at ease and explained what she was doing to him. I highly recommend Dr. Girbes and her staff.

I took my little son to a Pediatrician in this place. I have been looking for a Pediatrician in the Lake social department for some time and it was a difficult task to find a nearby appointment. When I saw the comments on this page I hesitated to attend but out of necessity I was forced to take my son. Two and a half months ago he was diagnosed with Bronchitis in the North Chicago department, and only treated with over-the-counter cough suppressants as medicines, which is why he was getting worse. Three times we took him to the hospital by emergency due to a cough with vomiting and no solution, because they only ruled out COVID and the flu, and they said it's just a viral and he's going home again. In this place, upon our arrival, Mrs. Perla, an excellent person, very kind, efficient, fast and most importantly, filled you with confidence until you felt that we were in the right place. Then Dr. Mina Girbes treated him, an excellent Pediatrician, she immediately detected his asthma, gave him his treatment, gave us the full explanation of what was happening to the child. She treated us wonderfully, calmed our concerns, was very kind and responsive, and answered all our questions. And Holy Remedy. My son has been on treatment for 3 days, improving every day. And the best thing is that from the first day we went back to sleep in our house, recovering the lost sleep and without cleaning up any more vomit. Infinitely grateful. Oh and the place is very clean and there is education in that place! God Bless Thank you
