I have been going to Dr. VanDusen for as long as I can remember. She has Given me excellent psychiatric medical care. I am so surprised at the few negative comments about her secretary and Dr. VanDusen. Her secretary is so kind and helpful. And Dr. VanDusen is the very best.

Im posting this review mainly because I noticed some negative reviews while grabbing her info to refer her to a friend. Ive been seeing Dr Van Dusen for nearly eight years now, and Ive never had any bad experiences. I first started seeing her to continue treatment for ADHD after my old psychiatrist moved. She is very caring and has helped SO much while trying to navigate my mental health through COVID. She even referred me to a wonderful therapist that Ive been seeing as well. Ive also had great experiences with her secretary. Shes very on top of scheduling and helping with insurance. I had a situation about a year ago where my insurance declined coverage for my medication, and they helped me figure it out right away. She also makes scheduling very easy and always calls to remind you of your appointment beforehand (which I love!). All in all, I love Dr Van Dusen. Even though I dont live near Park Ridge anymore, I still go out of my way to see her. (even though most of my appointments are via phone these days.). Obviously not all doctors are right for everyone, but I definitely recommend giving Dr. Van Dusen a try if youre looking.

I was treated horribly by the doctor herself as well as by her secretary. I was insulted, made to feel like a dollar sign, and at the end turned away without being seen at all for no reason because I was upset with how unprofessional their new patient intake was and how they wasted my afternoon off work. I waited 4 months to be seen and never was, and it was evident that the doctor was making up her policies as it suited her in the moment being that nothing could be shown in writing to confirm any of what was said which contradicted itself and changed every five minutes just to be used as tactics to get me to leave after she faked sympathy for upsetting me to my face as if I couldn't see exactly what was happening. She is in the business of making up fake prices on the spot, ripping people off, and DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HER PATIENTS. SHE ONLY CARES ABOUT GETTING PAID, which now to her own fault, she will never receive a dollar out of me or everyone else I tell abut my experience. The minute I left I notified my doctor who referred her and immediately I was sent an apology by her for sending me to this office. If I could rate her LESS than one star I would. Terrible and sad for someone to act this way whose life's mission is all about "helping and caring about people." SCAMMER.
