I started seeing Dr Itkin for migraines after suffering a ruptured brain aneurysm. I was having chronic migraines and nothing was helping me find relief. Dr Itkin put my mind at ease at my first visit. I was also suffering horrible anxiety because none of my other drs had explained that the aneurism had obliterated. Dr Itkin took the time to show me the scans of my brain. He is very caring and a wonderful doctor. His staff is great and they have always been helpful and very kind as well. Thank you Dr Itkin and staff for helping me. Susan L Reilly

I have never felt the need to review anything before, until one of my loved ones visited Dr. Itkin's office. She has had to deal with recurring migraines for years, which can be debilitating for any person. Over the past year they have been occurring more frequently, which has lead to a lot of pain. So, when she got an appointment with Dr. Itkin, there was room for hope. When she got there, she was met with annoyance from the receptionist due to the fact that her billing address was different than the address on her license. The entire time, she was being treated as if she was a girl in her early teens, when she is in her twenties. The only positive person was the nurse who seemed like an actual professional, as she was asking about her situation. She would ask her questions and actually take the time to hear he out. Meanwhile, quite literally, she could hear the receptionist talking about her in a negative way as this was happening. The lack of professionalism from the receptionist carried over into her meeting with Dr. Itkin. After giving a brief rundown of what she had been experiencing, Dr. Itkin found no need to ask any followup questions as to the nature of her migraines. He told her that it "was not that serious" even though (and anyone who has had a migraine can attest to this) migraines drain the energy out of you in an extremely painful way. If this was happening more frequently than it has before, I would say there's cause for concern at the bare minimum. After showing that he was content with sending her off with absolutely nothing, she told him she wasn't gonna leave unless she received some kind of treatment or helpful information. He gave her a handout of common food triggers, which is common knowledge and she had previously discovered that food doesn't trigger her migraines. I'm sure he would've known this had he been invested in her time in any capacity. He then prescribed her a medication, only after her advocating for herself. Then, he called her "too young and forgetful" to take medication or keep up with her primary care. Speaking from personal experience, if you've had to deal with an illness for years, your age doesn't determine your ability to be competent with your own health. Hearing this was like a slap to the face. This makes it seem like once he gets an idea about the patient in his head, that's the end of it. The lack of professionalism and ability to empathize shown by members of this office has left nothing but frustration in an already frustrating situation. Maybe you'll have better luck if you're older and go in there. Maybe not. To any young adults looking for help, better luck finding it somewhere else. Maybe this is how they treat all of their patients, I don't know. All I know is that before this appointment, there was excitement for answers. Now there's just frustration.
